Two Days of Motorcycle Adventure Through the Valencia Region

From my very first WhatsApp conversation with Manuel, I knew this was going to be a truly special experience. You know that feeling when a single message is enough to tell you you're going to get along with someone? Well, that's exactly what happened with him.

He was traveling across Europe for work and planned to spend a couple of weeks in Valencia. During that time, he wanted to dedicate one weekend to one of his greatest passions: riding motorcycles. He found us online and, in his own words, "I was lucky enough to find you." From that moment on, there was only one thing left to do: design an experience tailored specifically for him.

We decided that on Saturday, July 11th, 2026, we would explore the roads of the Valencian Community together on a guided tour, while Sunday, July 12th would be his chance to enjoy the ride on his own with one of our self-guided experiences, supported at all times by our YNRA (You Never Ride Alone) service. That way, he could simply enjoy the ride knowing that, if anything unexpected happened, someone would always be just a phone call away.

A few days before the tour began, I personally picked him up at the airport so we could take care of everything in advance. We tried on the riding gear, chose the jacket, helmet and gloves that fit him best, I handed him the Toro Biker welcome pack and, of course, we captured the moment with a photo on our now famous Wall of Fame.

For this adventure, we chose a Honda CB650F. It's a well-balanced, forgiving motorcycle that's incredibly easy to ride—perfect for discovering the region with confidence from the very first kilometer. Manuel owns several motorcycles back home in Mexico, but interestingly, not a single Honda. By the end of the weekend, he admitted he had completely fallen in love with the CB650F.

On Saturday morning, after collecting the bike, Elena—my wife—was able to join us for the ride. Whenever our schedules allow it, it's a real pleasure to share these experiences together, and this weekend was no exception. From the very first miles, I had the feeling this would become one of those weekends you'll remember for a very long time.

I always like to begin our tours in the simplest possible way. The first few kilometers allow every rider to get familiar with the motorcycle, Spanish traffic and the surrounding environment. It simply doesn't make sense to hand someone an unfamiliar bike and throw them into technical mountain roads five minutes later. There's never any need to rush. I'd much rather let everything unfold naturally, at a relaxed pace.

Our first major stop was El Garbí Viewpoint. We happened to be riding during one of those intense Mediterranean heat waves, so the bottles of cold water I always carry in my top case became more important than ever. Every bottle has a number on it so nobody accidentally grabs the wrong one during the day.

It may sound like a silly little detail, but it quickly turned into a running joke that stayed with us throughout the entire ride and gave us plenty of laughs. Just like that, Elena stopped being Elena and became Number 1, I was no longer Rafa but Number 2, and Manuel... well, he was Number 3.

It's amazing how something so simple can become part of the memories when you're genuinely enjoying yourself.

While we stood there taking in the incredible views, Manuel said something I'll never forget:

"If I hadn't found you, I would have never visited this place or enjoyed these views."

At that moment, I felt every hour I'd spent preparing the experience had been completely worthwhile.

From there, we continued along some of the most spectacular roads in the region until we reached the Caves of San José. Before heading inside, we sat down for a couple of cold beers, got to know each other a little better, and once again confirmed something I've learned after so many tours:

Years later, nobody remembers a particular corner.

But everyone remembers a conversation, a shared meal or a good story.

And when it comes to stories... Jesús has plenty of them.

Jesús, the owner of La Gruta Restaurant, was waiting for us just outside the caves.

Anyone who meets him quickly realizes that he doesn't simply run a restaurant—he turns every meal into an experience. His passion for wine, his way of making conversation and his genuine hospitality make you feel as if you're visiting an old friend rather than sitting down in a restaurant.

We enjoyed an outstanding meal, discovered some wonderful local cuisine and continued collecting those little moments that, in the end, are the ones that stay with you forever.

Toro Biker is built around three very simple pillars: great roads, local culture and authentic gastronomy. By that point on Saturday, we had already experienced two of them... so there was only one left!

After lunch, it was finally time to enjoy what motorcyclists love most: the road itself.

For several hours we rode through some of my favorite stretches in the Valencian Community and the province of Teruel, weaving our way through canyons, rivers, charming mountain villages and hundreds of curves—the kind that automatically put that familiar smile on your face every time you take your helmet off.

We finished the day feeling tired, yes... but with that wonderful sense of satisfaction that only comes after a day truly well spent.

Before saying goodbye, we made sure everything was ready for Sunday's route so Manuel could enjoy it entirely at his own pace.

And that's exactly what he did.

The second day was all about the self-guided experience.

I prepared a personalized roadbook filled with photographs, explanations and all the information he needed to fully appreciate every stop along the way. I've always believed that a landscape changes completely once you understand its history and know what you're actually looking at.

Throughout the day, Manuel met several other riders. As so often happens in the motorcycle world, complete strangers quickly became friends simply because they shared the same passion. One group even invited him to ride with them for a while.

It never stops amazing me how motorcycles can break down every barrier between people who, only moments before, had never met.

That day, our YNRA (You Never Ride Alone) service also had the chance to prove its value.

After stopping for fuel, Google Maps decided to do what Google Maps sometimes does... completely lose its mind.

Manuel sent me a message, we quickly figured out where he was, and within just a few minutes he had an updated route running on his phone. While we were at it, I also called the restaurant to let them know he'd be arriving much later than expected.

Just as I knew they would, they had no problem at all.

His reward was a fantastic Arroz del Senyoret, fresh oysters to start and a perfectly chilled pitcher of sangria that rounded off another unforgettable day.

When we met again that afternoon to return the motorcycle and drive him back to his hotel, there was simply no way to wipe the smile off his face.

Just before we said goodbye, he shared something I'll never forget.

"My father always used to say... TBH... Tired, But Happy."

He was exhausted.

Really exhausted.

But incredibly happy.

And honestly, I can't think of a better way to describe what we're trying to achieve at Toro Biker.

Because in the end...

Motorcycles are simply the means.

The roads are just the excuse.

What truly matters are the experiences, the people you meet along the way, and the memories that, many miles later, still manage to bring a smile to your face.
